Lame

Today, I signed an agreement saying that I wouldn't/can't trade stock until 30 days after my last day of employment. Pretty lame.

Oh yeah, Herng you def. right about being bearish on Apple...

four companies

1. CSR- china security and surveillance. this is gonna be big, especially with the olympics and the world fair coming up.
more and more people in china will be rich enough to have things that need protecting.
great growth, institutional buying, insider buying (CEO has bought $6 mil in shares the past 3 months), unnecessarily pummeled lately.

2. ARD- arena resources. well-managed, high-growth oil play.

3. VIP- phones in Russia and Kazakhstan, very nice.

4. BOLT- need to look into this one more. high growth, seems undervalued.

some useful stuff in this article, including BOLT-

drilling companies

This was all lewis, I looked into it after he mentioned it. Good way to play the rising demand for oil. I invested in NE but there are several good ones. Look into it

coal sector exploding

i bought couple coal stocks recently(i only told lewis, i should have posted it,sorry), its been exploding since. The global demand for coal is rising as an alternative resource of energy. The price of coal is rising also. I still see more room for growth. I definitely think these stocks are more for trading(short-term) rather than investing. There is probably going to be a pull back sometime so a good buy point should be near. If you are into hit and run(my style right now because long-short is definitely the way to go now)

MEE ACI

If

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

This is suppose to be Buffet's favorite poem(i know i'm obsessed with him). Anyhow, i read it whenever i have a bad trading day, makes me feel a lot better. Just wanted to share it

p/e ain't eveyrthing

p/e does not justify if a stock is under or overvalued, sometimes but not always. In order to find the undervalued stocks, you need to find the intrinsic value of the stock, and future cash flow is the MOST important thing when it comes to determining the intrinsic value. i've been trying to make it a habit to determine the stock price of a company myself before i look at the stock price given by the market. Its a really good way to fine undervalued stocks. It can get tricky though. Had to read many many books before i was comfortable with it.

p.s remember, when the market is in fear is when you can find the most undervalued stocks. And we are heading there if not there already.

attention ctrp owners

If you bought this stock at 50+, might want to buy more to average down. Or, sell some and average down when it gets lower. (remember: the only reason why this stock is going down right now is the poor third quarter guidance which is all short-term).

RIG- ditto. bigger company, industry leader.

ACL- eyes. (opti-free ring a bell?)

NCTY- world of warcraft in china

other than that, i'm moving to india:

if u are going for long...

ctrp is one of the best stocks right now. pretty undervalued because of a stupid analyst downgraded it for weak short term guidance(idiotic). Amazing fundamentally and technically. Its a strong buy in my book. Take a look at the stock i highly recommend it.
